Federation Chocolate at Taranna, on the Tasman Peninsula, has only been producing its handmade chocolates since 2004, but has already become a 'must-see' for travellers touring the peninsula. At the factory there is a heritage museum which celebrates the Tasman Peninsula's convict history. Visitors can also watch the chocolate being made through viewing windows, but the highlight of any visit is to sample the more unusual varieties on offer, like brandied apricot, coffee almond, orange seville, liquorice and apple.

Anvers confectionery was established as a cottage industry in November 1989, by Igor Van Gerwen, who came to Australia from Belgium. Igor found the Tasmanian cream and butter to be the richest in flavour of any in the world, ideally suited for truffles and fudge. As a result, the showcase of their business has become the Truffle D'Anvers. Their six flavour selection truffles will please the most discerning customer. The mint truffle is ideal as an after dinner treat. Their dark and milk ganache truffles are designed to bring the cacao flavours to the foreground. The House of Anvers is located on the main highway between Devonport and Launceston at Latrobe.
