Not your average jewellery shop, Friends in Design (a.k.a. FIND) offers a diverse and exciting range of unique, quality locally-made work. Located in the historic Salamanca waterfront precinct, where customers can browse - and buy, of course! - contemporary jewellery creations and meet the creators at the same time. Inspiration for much of the jewellery stems from the stunning Tasmanian landscape and Tasmania's island culture. Named after the owner's two grandmothers, Lily Marguerite and Dorothy Anne, Lily and Dot is a curated selection of contemporary handmade gifts for baby, home and you, with a nod to vintage whimsy. Here in our online store or in our midtown Hobart shop, you'll find art prints by Tasmanian illustrators, softies, crochet blankets, jewellery, candles, baby gifts and storybooks by local authors. Join a small-group crafternoon and learn to crochet over tea and cake from the nearby CWA Shop. Bookings essential.

Since 1978, Aspect Design of Salamanca - a Tasmanian Handmade Art, Craft and Gifts Gallery - has been located within the creative environs of the Salamanca Arts Centre in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Representing over 100 Tasmanian artisans and makers in ceramics, glass, furniture, jewellery, lavender, paintings and prints, metal, textile and Tasmanian timber, we specialise in handpicking the very best of what our beautiful island state has to offer.
Lynda Salmon grew up on a farm in the lower midlands of Tasmania and has crafted and created since she was a small child. Lynda works in sterling silver and fine silver with rose gold highlights. She uses a traditional and labour intensive technique where each piece of jewellery is completely constructed by hand. No two pieces can ever be exactly the same. Therefore, each item of jewellery is completely unique.
