Avadon Luxury Candles
"Avadon Luxury Candles are an expression of my favourite aromas and passions" says Artisan Candlemaker and Artist, Tennille Avadon. "As I undertook the task of renovating my first home, I was filled with the desire to add my own "finishing touch" to the revamped rooms by gently perfuming them. I dislike overpowering, heady scents that take one's breath away. And my mission was to create subtle wafting aromas that perfume the air like a gentle mist. Today my little hobby has blossomed into a collection of elegant hand-made Artisan products, lovingly created to enrich your surroundings & Awaken your Senses."
Historic Photographs of Tasmania
Beattie's Studio is home to a unique collection of historic photographs of early and colonial Tasmania from the museum of John Watt Beattie, as maintained and presented by Beattie's Studio. Owned and operated by the Stephenson family. All (with a few tiny exceptions) of the historic photos on our web site can be ordered by pressing "Buy" in the Archive view (ie. fully zoomed in). Beattie's Studio in the Cat & Fiddle arcade Hobart was once the place to go for portrait photography, weddings and special events. From the 1930s when the Stephenson family bought it until 1993 when the doors closed, there were over 100,000 photographic sessions. Each session might consist of a number of photos. A wedding might be 100 photos or more.
